Motorbike trip to San Sebastian day five
Today we covered 325 miles from San Sebastian in Spain to Cucugnan in France.
First part of the journey was to make the miles and this meant a bit of this, the most disgusting undrinkable bottom of the ashtray tasting coffee and a make do breakfast.
I don’t know why people back home complain about service stations they’re luxury compared to French ones.
On our second stop I did find an excellent coffee, happier much happier.
I found these very nice dark chocolate bars with seeds.
Needed to check our direction, it was cold and we had a long way to go still. We were now well into France.
Going up the mountains I could see the rain and mist I was hoping we weren’t passing through it. We were so cold at one point we looked out for a supermarket to buy a fleece but it was Sunday and everything was shut.
As soon as we turned off the motorway the roads became interesting.
This was the start of Bikerboy’s biking holiday.
He had some fun here.
There were “happy” roads for him but it was just about to get a whole lot better. We went up and around a mountain and suddenly the weather changed drastically, the sun was out and the view was incredible.
At this point I had my hands around his waist and could feel him chuckling with laughter excited when he saw the zigzag roads ahead, appearing for a long distance.
What a beautiful part of the world.
We were near Cucugnan and the roads became perfect for him, a very happy biker.
The weather within an hour around the mountains went from us needing a fleece to feeling as if we were thrown into an oven again.
And there was Cucugnan on a hill top in the distance.
On arrival it appeared the bike had a sprocket problem, and this would jeopardise our trip.
